BASMAT LEVIN

Born in Jerusalem, Israel. Studied drawing, painting, sculpture, video and computer graphics. Recipient of the Charles Revson Fellowship from the New York Studio School of Drawing and Painting. Her work was on display in the USA at New York’s Elizabeth Harris Gallery and at DOT.51 Gallery in Miami, among others.

Her paintings have been featured in major motion pictures, including: “Dinner Rush” and “Suburban Girl”. Chinese portraits she created while living in China were exhibited in Shanghai at YB2 Gallery, M1 Gallery in M-50 and at Dunhill Twin Villa. In Beijing, they were featured at the NY Arts Gallery and in Hunan Province at ZhuZhou City Art Center. After having spent the past several very productive years painting in her Moganshan studio in Shanghai, Basmat is currently back in NYC, painting in her Tribeca studio, following outstanding success with her solo show, “Shanghai Facebook.”
